Do you have a closet that looks like this? It’s not really that bad- there have been a few attempts at organization with some bins, bags and drawers – but it still messy and hard to find things when you need them.
Can you imagine it looking like this? (and for under $100!)
I love to showcase easy and inexpensive solutions for your organizing needs, and this closet from Sara Dear is perfect! I love that she used all the same color bins and labels to make the whole thing uniform and pleasing to the eye. I also like that she uses inexpensive dish bins- organizing doesn’t have to be expensive! Here is what she had to say about the project:
“I remember going to this closet one morning to grab a roll of paper towels, and when I opened the door, about 8 things fell out at me. As I was shoving them back in the closet, I got fed up and started going through everything, right there. I really needed everything in the space to be contained. I ended up using this linen closet for all the extra little stuff we typically don’t know where to store, which is great, but it meant a lot of little things just sort of floating around with no rhyme or reason, and made for a big headache to sort. I ended up finding dish bins for $2 a piece and they happened to be the right size. In a space that was storing all kinds of things, the uniformity of all the same bins and drawers made it feel cohesive and tidy, despite the hundreds of random things inside. I also added some inexpensive plastic drawers, and chalkboard labels to make this space super organized without breaking the bank. The whole project cost me about $70! And now I have somewhere to go for everything from first aid to candles and extra tissue boxes and it’s always easy to find.”
